The pride and secret formula of the Moroccans, Moroccan oil is extracted from a special tree that grows in Morocco, Africa - Argan tree. For centuries Moroccan women have benefited from using this oil. Now this oil has generated interest world over. Moroccan oil, also referred to as Argan oil is extracted from the kernel of the fruit of the Argan tree. The oil has rich emollients that moisturize the skin and hair.

The Argan trees are regarded as very special on account of their various properties. These trees can withstand intense heat. The strong roots of the trees help them withstand weather conditions and stay rooted for many years. Their medicinal properties are said to have saved many lives in the past.

Moroccan oil is particularly rich in vitamins like A, E, F. It is rich in antioxidants, polyphenols and sterols. The vitamin E content in this oil is twice that of olive oil. It contains 80% essential fatty acids and numerous free-radical fighting antioxidants. It is also enriched with UV protectors. Argan oil is pale gold or clear and has a light texture; it is not greasy and smells slightly nutty. This oil is easily absorbed by the skin.

Moroccan Oil mask

Moroccan oil hair mask penetrates deep into the hair and helps naturally renew cell structure and rebuild hair. In the process it repairs the damage wreaked by chemicals and other environmental factors like the sun and wind. This oil mask improves hair health and leaves behind moisture and shine. Moroccan oil mask is available as intense hydrating hair mask for moisturizing dry and brittle hair or restorative mask that hydrates and repairs damaged hair. After shampooing, apply a generous amount of Moroccan oil hair mask. Leave it on for 7-10 minutes and then rinse it out.

Moroccan oil treatments

Moroccan oil treatments include leave-in conditioners and serums that work as styling agents as well as finishing products. They are usually highly nourishing and residue-free. Moroccan oil products help eliminate frizz and also offer UV protection.

Those having very dry and frizzy hair might benefit from applying a bit of Moroccan oil to the hair after a shampoo and conditioning. This helps to lock in the moisture and keep it smooth. Often, about 5 ml of Moroccan oil is mixed with hair color for a shinier effect. Moroccan oil is a good styling agent for the hair. It is light and non-greasy; making it perfect to achieve that polished look. The nutrients and vitamins in Moroccan oil enrich the hair cuticles without over-saturating or weighing them down.

Moroccan oil skin treatment

Moroccan oil is rich in fatty acids and is an effective antioxidant. Its water-locking properties work wonders for the softness and suppleness of facial skin.

  • An exfoliating mixture can be made by mixing Moroccan oil with barley. Gently massage this on the face to remove the dead skin cells.

  • Create a facial mask by mixing Moroccan oil with green clay. Apply this paste on the face and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse off with a damp towel.

  • Once you remove the mask, massage your face with Moroccan oil. Use your fingertips to massage the oil. Begin from your forehead; work towards your cheeks and above the eyes. This procedure helps in locking the moisture in the skin.
