Modern Ink jets are capable of reproducing accurate color details and good detail. But select one with the highest resolution. Anything above 1200 dpi (dots per inch - the standard value to measure the capability of scanners and printers to reproduce details) will do assuming that you use quality appropriate printer papers.
Glossy papers make colors come alive, but on the flip side, they can be marred by fingerprints. Matte finish papers may not have the punch of glossy papers, but they are not affected by your finger prints either. Again it is all a matter preference.
Photo quality papers have special quoting on them to absorb droplets of ink from spreading around. This means that adjacent drops of color does not bleed into each other smearing the color details. This avoids a fuzzy appearance.
